The camel fiber in this yarn comes from the Bactrian Camel. Yarn made from camel fiber creates a lightweight and compact, stable fabric that provides warmth without adding bulk. Camel fiber does not easily felt, and tends not to pill. Camel fibers are hollow, which means they act as a vacuum, keeping you warm in cold weather, and cooler in hot weather. Camel fiber is also waterproof! Camel yarn has incredible stitch definition, and is suitable for knitting, crochet, and weaving projects.
While camel fiber does have some elasticity, it is not as resilient as other fibers; the silk in this yarn adds some elasticity along with drape and luster. Silk also has wonderful insulating properties like camel fiber; a garment made from this yarn will be comfortable to wear year round. This luxury yarn is sturdy, lightweight, and soft. Use it for shawls, scarves, mittens and gloves, hats, or any project you like!
Comes from a non-smoking home with cats.
Each skein is unique. If you will be using more than one in the same project, use two at the same time. Work a row or two from one, then a row or two from the other. This can help avoid unwanted color pooling and disguise any differences between individual skeins.
Photos taken in natural light. I've done my best to provide a picture representing the color of the yarn, however, since colors vary on individual computers, what you receive may look a bit different.
