Suitable for knitting, crochet and weaving projects.
Targhee wool is considered a fine wool that is slightly more durable than Merino. It feels light in the hand and has a wonderful loft and elasticity.
It produces a supple fabric that stands up well to frequent use. It is warm and cozy, making it your go-to sweater yarn. Also perfect for vests, hats, mittens and gloves, and other cold weather garments.
Try it for cowls, fingerless mitts, head-bands, afghans or felted projects.
A little history for you:
Targhee sheep were first bred in Idaho in 1926 at the USDA Sheep Experiment Station. They are a cross between Rambouillet rams and Corriedale and Lincoln/Rambouillet ewes. They are named for the Targhee National Forest where they grazed in the summer; the forest was named in honor of Chief Targhee, a Bannock Indian warrior.
Comes from a smoke free home with cats.
