This is a luscious blend of two kinds of baby alpaca fleece, Suri and Huacaya. Softer and sturdier than cashmere and lighter than sheep's wool, alpaca produces warm, silky, durable, and feather-light garments. Alpaca fiber boasts tremendous warmth and insulation with soft drape and texture.
Alpaca is 5-7 times warmer than wool due to microscopic air pockets that trap and insulate; because of this, even lacy open fabric will feel warm. Alpaca has no lanolin and is hypoallergenic. Because the fiber surface scales lie flatter and smoother than sheep's wool, alpaca is less itchy and feels softer.
Suri Alpaca make up only about 10% of the alpaca population. Their fleece has a wonderful luster and superb handle. Suri fiber gives a soft, flowing drape to fabric. It is a rare and wonderful fiber, and anything knit or crocheted from this yarn will be truly special.

Each skein is unique. If you will be using more than one in the same project, I recommend using two at the same time, working a row or two from the first, then a row or two from the second. This can help avoid unwanted color pooling and disguise any differences between individual skeins.
Photos taken in natural light. I've done my best to provide a picture representing the color of the yarn, however, since colors vary on individual computers, what you receive may look a bit different.
