Merino wool is known for its strength and durability. It is soft, warm and cozy and has wonderful moisture wicking properties. That means garments made from wool keep you cooler in hot weather and warmer in cold weather.
Single construction, or single ply yarns, produce a very smooth fabric when worked up and show off stitches beautifully. Merino wool in particular works up into a lush, squishy fabric that feels wonderful next to the skin.
Knit and purl combinations such as seed, moss or other textured stitches work well for singles yarn, and will give extra body and depth to your fabric. Rib stitches also work well.
Due to the low amount of twist required to hold the fibers together, single ply yarns tend to be weaker than plied yarns. Single construction yarns also tend to pill and do not hold up well to wear and tear - think socks and mittens. To help prevent pilling and help your fabric from losing its shape, try working in a tighter gauge and use this yarn for projects such as cowls and shawls or other items that won't encounter much abrasion.

Each skein is unique. If you will be using more than one in the same project, I recommend using two at the same time, working a row or two from the first, then a row or two from the second. This can help avoid unwanted color pooling and help disguise any differences between individual skeins.
Pictures taken in natural light. I've done my best to provide a picture representing the color of the yarn, however, since colors vary on individual computers, what you receive may look a bit different.
