This yarn will initially feel crisp but will soften up as you work with it. After blocking, the crispness will return, becoming soft again after wear.

Soy fiber is spun from a by-product of soybeans. Soy protein is liquefied and then extruded into long, continuous fibers that are then cut and processed. Soy yarn has a handle similar to cashmere, the luster and sheen of silk, and the warmth and resilience of wool. It also has a higher breaking point than cotton, wool and silk. Soy is renewable, biodegradable, and contains natural anti-bacterial agents.

Soy fiber breathes and has moisture absorption properties like cotton, so items made from this yarn will be comfortable to wear even in the warmer months.

This soft, shimmery yarn has incredible drape and shows off lace stitches beautifully. Soy tends to stretch out of shape, and can become bulky with textured stitches, so is best suited for lacy shawls, scarves and stoles, or similar projects. Due to the slippery texture of the yarn, you may want to consider using bamboo needles for your knitted projects.

During washing of this yarn, you may notice yellowing of the water; this is normal with soybean yarn. There may also be some color bleeding, which is also normal; the color of your yarn should remain crisp and clear.

Comes from a non-smoking home with cats.

Each skein is unique. If you will be using more than one in the same project, I recommend using two at the same time, working a row or two from the first, then a row or two from the second. This can help avoid unwanted color pooling and help disguise any differences between individual skeins.

Photos taken in natural light. I've done my best to provide a picture representing the color of the yarn, however, since colors vary on individual computers, what you receive may look a bit different.
